Joint Pain and Sports Injuries

Medical Joint Pain and
Injury Assessment

If you’re unsure of what is causing your joint pain or are worried about paying for expensive scans that may be unnecessary, a full medical assessment by a musculoskeletal doctor will help diagnose your problem and guide you through the investigation and treatment options.

Joint and muscle pains can occur spontaneously due to conditions such as arthritis and autoimmune conditions, or after a traumatic injury.  Clinic 7 will provide treatments such as steroid joint injections or prescription medicines and physiotherapy and podiatry treatment through our partner clinical services.

Steroid Joint Injections

Some injuries or chronic joint problems such as osteoarthritis can be hugely debilitating and painful – so much so it can be difficult to undertake the physiotherapy activities required to recover. Steroid joint injections can help to manage the pain and inflammation caused by these conditions, allowing you to fully commit to a rehabilitation programme. At Clinic 7, we use ultrasound to guide all our injections in order to maximise effectiveness – click below to learn more.

Imaging and Scans

Sometimes medical imaging and scans can help confirm a diagnosis, and direct treatment programmes. Rehabilitation of musculoskeletal problems can often take weeks or months and appropriate imaging can help give the confidence to follow a given treatment plan.

Our medical team will advise you on the most appropriate investigation, minimising unnecessary expense. These may include:

  • MRI
  • Ultrasound
  • X-ray
  • Blood Tests

Podiatry

Foot and ankle problems can go on to cause problems for the entire lower limb. Specialist assessment and treatment (including with customised orthotic devices)  by an expert podiatrist can resolve these.
